The Need

For over 25 years, IJM has pioneered the work to protect vulnerable people from violence. 9 out of 9 times in the last decade, IJM’s Justice System Strengthening Projects have reduced slavery and violence between 50 and 85% for very large populations of people in poverty. As we grow to expand our impact to protect 500 million people from violence, IJM Latin America is seeking a Regional Sr. Operations Coordinator who will provide high-level administrative coordination to the Regional President and to the Regional Leadership Team and will represent the strategy and initiatives of the Latin America Region to internal and external stakeholders.

This position is based at IJM Guatemala City office and reports to the Latin America Regional President.


Responsibilities:

  • Provide administrative and business support to the Regional President, Latin America that allows them to scale their capacity and productivity, including the tracking of their priorities and projects and preparation for meetings through briefings and agendas.
  • Coordinate and organize a wide and diverse range of activities for regional strategy and operations team.
  • Collaborate with the regional support functions to ensure effective and efficient delivery of shared services at the regional level.
  • Design and implement a strong internal communication plan across the division that leads to regional alignment, shared strategy, clarity on resources and processes, and leadership transparency within Latin America.
  • Track regional priorities and projects and coordinate strategy development and implementation.
  • Support the Regional President drafting quarterly reports and other ad-hoc reports, developing communication materials, etc.
  • Provides quality project support to the Regional President and the Latin America Regional Team on special projects as assigned; and,
  • Plan and execute regional events, leadership summits, and regional retreats.


Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in International Development, Administration, or the equivalent;
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience, preferably in support and coordination roles, administrative support, or project management.
  • Proven ability to work and communicate well with a diverse team and in a Spanish/English environment.
  • International or multi-cultural work experience preferred.
  • Experience in project management is highly preferred.
  • Fluent in English and Spanish, orally and in writing.
  • Budget management competency preferred.
  • Strong Microsoft Office suite skills.

Additional information

Role requires occasional travel to the United States, Latin America or other regions. Travel may last up to approximately 2 weeks at a time. Candidates should be able to obtain passport and satisfy visa requirements of different countries and should be able to comply with IJM’s travel policies including meeting vaccination requirements.

This role does not provide an international expatriate benefits package therefore it is open for nationals or residents who have the legal capacity to live and work in Guatemala City, Guatemala.
